Hotel Ciutat del Prat Barcelona

The Hotel El Prat is one of the Barcelona hotels that’s good for an overnight stay if you want to be close to the airport and don’t need or want to go into Barcelona itself – so essentially it’s one of the Barcelona airport hotels.

The hotel has 130 double rooms.

The hotel has 24 hour room service and the quality of the food is good, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean.

It’s a ten Euro or so taxi ride from the airport, and the hotel has a courtesy shuttle bus, not shared with other hotels in Barcelona, running every half an hour during the day to the airport.

We’ve stayed there ourselves twice now while en route to Andorra, breaking up the journey from the UK by staying in one of the Barcelona hotels, and if you’re just passing through we think this is one of the best hotels in Barcelona.

The Alexandra is a 99 room 4 star Barcelona hotel. A ten to fifteen minute walk from the city centre. Modern rooms, close to restaurants and shops, the Alexandra has good friendly and efficient staff, most of whom speak excellent English. Overall one of the better hotels in Barcelona to stay in if you want to be close to the centre.

Hotel Majestic (5 Stars)

If you’re visiting the city for a couple of days sightseeing and shopping, the Majestic is one of the hotels in Barcelona set in a good location for this.

The Majestic has a rooftop swimming pool which is great in the warm months, the hotel is air conditioned and offers internet access.

The Majestic is modern, has good staff and facilities, and while isn’t regarded as one of the cheap Barcelona hotels, is worth considering for location.

Ambassador Hotel (4 Stars)

Located in the centre of Barcelona, good for business and leisure. The Ambassador has a gymnasium, swimming pool and business conference rooms and facilities.

Royal Superior Hotel (4 Stars)

An excellently located good 4 star hotel located in Barcelona city centre on the Las Ramblas Boulevard, making the Royal Superior ideal for both business and leisure visitors.

As well as being close to the city's shopping area, it is close to the Opera House and the Picasso Museum.

Hotel Caledonian (3 Stars)

Smaller than some hotels in Barcelona, but the room sizes are similar, and the staff friendlier than some.

The Caledonian is located in the centre of the city, with the Barcelona metro and bus network close by.

Five minutes walk from the Gothic Quarter, a good comfortable hotel ideal for short breaks.

Hilton Barcelona (4 Stars)

If a hotel that is part of a large chain appeals, the Hilton in Barcelona is a good choice. Professionally run and efficient, the staff are knowledgeable about local facilities and how to get from A to B. Near to the airport and good for Barcelona's conference and exhibition centre. Good for a business trip.
